Canopy beds or four poster beds are typically associated with traditional design because of their massive structures and embellished details which contradict what modern design is all about.  Putting all preconceptions aside, Italian furniture designers recognized a gap in a bed style that is not as widely available for those who lean towards the minimally designed modern bedrooms.  Today, modern four poster beds and contemporary canopy beds feature streamlined design and linear aesthetics, fusing impressive nature of their prominent structures with the minimal sleekness of contemporary bedroom styling.
