Modern Design goes Shabby Chic

Wednesday, March 26th, 2014

The Shabby Chic style offers dimension and authenticity with worn-out finishes, pastel colors and soft textures.  Modern design did not ignore this fabulous trend, offering plenty of minimalistic options that are aesthetically effortless, offering a scruffy, distressed appearance though the use of linen fabrics and washed-out wood finishes.

Tomasella’s 2013 showroom at the Milan furniture fair was filled with linen upholstered seating among which was the Tiffany dining chair.

While Presotto Italia was among many Italian factories that introduced washed wooden textures, incorporating them into their modern bedroom and wall unit collections.

Shabby chic style was also successfully accomplished by upholstering the Sharpei chaise lounge by Polaris in a linen fabric that is not only super soft but bestows a sense of coziness on the entire room.

Double Impact at 2014 Maison & Objet in Paris and at IMM Cologne

Tuesday, March 25th, 2014

KARE is known in Europe as the trend mecca of modern furniture and accessories.  Offering designs that create a sensual experience; designs that combine comfort, style and creativity; designs that speak purely and primarily to the web generation.  Vintage, glamour, fashion, one-of-a-kind, and recycled are some of the key parameters behind KARE’s product design, paralleling the same philosophy when it comes to material selection and trend-setting.

Opening 2014 with a bang, KARE’s focus on a lifestyle diversity easily transcended into their equally elaborate displays at the IMM Cologne International Furniture Fair and Maison & Objet in Paris.  Artfully displaying furniture, lighting, accessories and gifts arranged into living scenes, allowed KARE to reiterate its “fashion-furniture” branding experience with decisive authenticity.
