The embodiment of exceptional woodworking skills and an example of museum quality functional art, the Ripples bench by the award-winning Japanese architect Toyo Ito creates an intriguing and treasured living space with its poetic narrative and reassuring complicity with the environment.  The remarkable design imprint that it created since its inception translated into its metamorphosis into the outdoors.  Ripples outdoor bench brings the same authentic sculptural character and hand-made silhouette to the garden, deck or patio in both residential and commercial spaces using okoume wood, also known as Gaboon, native of tropical West Africa that is perfectly suited to withstand humidity or light rain.

Riddled table² by Steven Holl for Horm

Tuesday, September 29th, 2015

Harnessing the creative language that designer Steven Holl poured into the 1st version of the Riddled table back in 2007, Horm in collaboration with Steven Holl was able to reinvent this masterful creation with its new version, Riddled Table² using the same materials, innovative craftsmanship and well-considered proportions.  The resulting table is simply phenomenal, featuring four triangular bases with laser cut slits, equipped with LED lighting that with the help of dimmed illumination, can take ones breath away.  Once again, Steven Holl sought to weave connectivity between modern edginess and natural finishes into this new version with an objective of both enhancing the exceptional presentation of the table’s bases and layering the modern language of the home with sculptural and functional depth.
