Yep, We’re Just Giving Away a $3,000 Bed

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

2011 was a good year for us at room service 360°. Despite a number of hardships with floods and hurricanes, the site’s redesign and new showroom are definitely outshining all the bad that happened in 2011. True, it took a lot of work, but it’s work we’re proud of and we’re glad we did it.

Now that all that’s been said, we wanted to thank you, our readers and loyal fans for being so loyal and giving us the opportunity to turn our passion of modern furniture into a business. We’re doing so by giving away one of our best selling pieces. We wanted to thank our Facebook fans, specifically, because we feel that’s where we communicate best with you guys! As such, anybody who is a fan of our Facebook page will be able to see the sweepstakes entry form. After you’ve filled that out, you will be automatically entered into the draw.

The draw is for the always stunning Selex Blok Red Walk-on Modern Platform Bed from Milmueble. We’ll be shipping the $2,895 Queen size version of the bed in the wenge wood finish with the red lacquer accent finish to one lucky facebook fan. So, if you’re a fan of room service 360°, but not yet our Facebook page, you should probably remedy the situation rather quickly.

The contest will run from the very beginning of February right up until the end of March and is open to any Canadian or American above the age of 18. If you’re into the details, please have a look at the Votigo information below. And who knows, if this goes well, I can imagine there might be more and more contests of this nature for our Facebook fans in the future. Honestly, our sincerest thanks go out to all of you.

2012 PANTONE Color of the Year is 17-1463 Tangerine Tango

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

A vibrant color choice for the year that is predicted to bring economic upturn and global recovery, Tangerine Tango is a reddish orange that is destined to uplift spirits and re-energize its surroundings.  Pantone’s executive director Leatrice Eiseman has summarized the true essence of this color by describing it as “sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it, reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

17-1463 Tangerine Tango - 2012 Pantone Color of the Year

In modern furniture design, we have already seen intricate examples of how orange revives and differentiates one piece of contemporary furniture from another era and it is a matter of months before we see so much more of orange incorporated into designer furniture from leading European manufacturers.

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

Our annual trip to the 2011 International Furniture Fair in Milan has sadly come to its conclusion as we landed late last night at JFK Airport.  Although some levels of separation anxiety from the world’s designer modern furniture wonderland are hard to ignore, it is exciting to share some snapshots of what this year’s fair represented from the perspective of practical and livable furniture as well as one-of a kind masterpieces.

Mea culpa of mixed identities?

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

Ferruccio Laviani’s Evolution modern dresser for Emmemobili is a crowning jewel for lovers of the eccentric, synchronizing baroque and modern into a powerfully eternal concept with universal appeal.  First presented at the 2009 International Furniture Fair in Milan, Evolution is an unabashed embodiment of a journey; from past to present, from embellished to minimalist; from antiquated to avant-garde.  It is certainly not a mea-culpa for fusing design styles but rather a celebration of all design aspects formulated into a piece of art that needs very little explanation about its functional and aesthetic relevance.
