The materials used for its construction are not susceptible to corrosion and the typical leather (indoor) upholstery has been replaced by a lacquer application called “Mellow Face Plus” which was developed in-house by Leolux to protect the foam, and give the furniture its comfort. “Mellow Face Plus,” which is available in a range of 26 colors and a number of different textures, forms an elastic skin around the piece of furniture to provide its plush comfort, flexibility and durability. As per the silhouette of the Beluga, the body of the fish-seat is made of strong plastic, yet the seat is soft. You sit down on the broad back and lean back against the tail fin, and the rest is nothing but a smooth ride.
Made in the Netherlands, the Beluga was created by the young Dutch design pair Christiaan Oppewal and Silvijn van der Velden.
