Modern Dining Room Inspirations

Thursday, January 31st, 2013

While at the end of the day, the meal and the company are the most memorable aspect of any celebration, the backdrop of its setting often helps set the stage for the festivities.  Following are two examples of perfectly designed modern dining rooms featuring exquisite furniture, dramatic lighting and congruent design that are rightfully suited for the holidays.

Sculptured Betty dining chairs by Cattelan Italia are combined with a more subdued but utterly considerable looking Manhattan dining table by Cattelan Italia.  The dining room furniture collectively offer both a complementary and a contrasting feel, denoting multidimensional styling.  The contrasting theme is further extended to the dark walls which are offset by soft white, sheer curtains and a touch of greenery.   The finishing touches are applied by the dramatic pendant chandelier with supple and a lit floor that intensifies everything placed on it.

Another example of a fantastic dining room design is Tonin Casa’s Tokyo dining table with Vivienne dining chairs.  In this case, the combination of contrasting styles and colors helps this dining room setting appear very commanding and memorable.

From fashion to furniture, gloriously golden hues are making a statement

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013

Indicative of elegance and panache with a touch of vitality, golden hues have become the go-to color family for a wide variety of items, among which are the fashion-forward modern Italian furniture from mega designers like Marcel Wanders who created the Can Can pendant for Flos to famous Italian furniture manufacturers like Cappellini and Cattelan Italia.  Richly saturated yellow-orange colors are paired with more muted tones in the black and grey family for an understated “pop” and a surprise element when a warm golden color is contrasted against its edgy counterpart.
